The Bible

Cite scripture using an in-text citation only. The translation (ESV, NIV, etc.) should included in the first reference only. This is an adaptation of APA style for use at Covenant Seminary.

As it is written in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (ESV).

The Bible begins with these words: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (ESV, Genesis 1:1).
